McCauley named CoSIDA Football Academic First Team All-American

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Winona State University's Carter McCauley has been named to the 2017 College Sports Information Directors (CoSIDA) Division II Football Academic All-America Team.

McCauley is a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-American, having garnered First Team status in each of the last two years. He was a Second Team recipient in 2015, and is one of just four members of the 2017 All-America Team to be a three-time selection.

The Academic All-America program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances both athletically and in the classroom, and is voted on by CoSIDA members.

McCauley, a senior, is studying Biology (Cell & Molecular) and has maintained a perfect 4.0 G.P.A. at Winona State.

The Owatonna, Minnesota native ranked third in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) in field goals made (19) and second in total points (104). His point total in 2017 set a new Winona State single-season record.

McCauley also set a new single-game record with 17 kicking points this season at Minot State University. Additionally, he owns the Warrior record with a 59-yard field goal made.

McCauley is the NSIC and Winona career record holder with 55 field goals made.
