Arlan Klinder was an ironman on the baseball field, playing in every game of his four-year career at Winona State. Klinder finished his career with a .327 batting average, including a team-leading .380 in 1962. He was a key member of three consecutive conference championship teams from 1961-63, with all three of those teams advancing to the national tournament. After graduation, Klinder earned a tryout with the Minnesota Twins. Klinder was also a member of the WSU basketball team, serving as co-captain for the 1962-63 season.
