Schumacher, a management information systems (MIS) major, was named 2006 WSU Outstanding Student in MIS, graduating with the highest GPA in her major. She excelled as a student as well as an indoor/outdoor track athlete during her WSU career. Schumacher was WSU’s first-ever Division II track and field All-American, taking fourth at the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 400-meter hurdles. She earned numerous awards: All Academic Track and Field 2005 and 2006; 17 time NSIC Champion in 13 different events during 2005 and 2006; ESPN Region Second Team All-Academic 2005 and 2006; NSIC Indoor Track and Field MVP 2005 and Outdoor MVP 2006; All Academic Track and Field 2005 and 2006; NSIC All Conference all four years; NSIC Athlete of the Year Indoor 2005 and Outdoor 2006; NSIC Indoor High Point Scorer Indoor 2005 and both Indoor and Outdoor 2006; 2006 record holder Indoor 300m, 800m, Pentathlon and relays, and Outdoor record holder 400m, 800m, 400 high jump, Heptathlon, and relays; 2006 NSIC Conference record holder in Pentathlon and Heptathlon; and Team Indoor Champion 2005 and 2006. Schumacher was the first NCAA II Track & Field All-American for Winona State and placed 4th at the 2005 NCAA II Championships in 400h. She still holds the WSU school record in 400h, 300m, Indoor 800m, and Pentathlon. Schumacher lives in Colfax, Wis., and is an IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. computer systems implementation coordinator and education consultant.
