A women’s athletics pioneer at Winona State, Mary Bartley was a four-sport standout, earning letters in volleyball, softball, tennis and basketball during her time as a Warrior. Bartley was the basketball team’s leading scorer in each of her four seasons while leading the Warriors to the 1978 MAIAW championship game. She was named the Most Valuable Player for both the WSU tennis and softball teams while serving as a three-year starter on the volleyball court. Bartley was a team captain for Winona State’s basketball, tennis and softball teams, while earning multiple letters in each sport.
