Warrior Meet Day : Track & Field

La CROSSE, Wis. - The Winona State University track and field team - currently ranked No. 9 in the latest USTFCCCA poll - will make the short trip downriver this weekend to take part in the Phil Esten Challenge hosted by the University of Wisconsin La Crosse on Saturday, April 22. 

Winona State has already produced some impressive results so far in the 2023 outdoor season, with multiple new Winona State marks in several races. 
 
Lindsay Cunningham, a junior from Wisconsin Dells, Wis., set a new Winona State all-time best mark in the 10K run, turning in a time of 32:43.64 at the Mt. Sac Relays at Mt. San Antonio College on Friday, April 15. Cunningham's feat earned her NSIC Athlete of the Week honors for the week ending April 16. 

In addition to setting the fastest time ever in the event, Cunningham's mark is also the third-fastest time ever in the in NCAA Division II ranks. Cunningham finished second overall in the Elite Division of the race and was the fastest collegiate runner.
 
Also in California at the Bryan Clay Invitational WSU's Kaylee Beyer set a new Winona State record in the 800-meters, running a time of 2:09.72.  Beyer's mark was over two seconds faster than her previous Warrior best. Beyer also ran the women's 1,500 meters, completing the race with a time of 4:24.34. 

Competing in the Mt. SAC Relays, over April 13-15, Shereen Vallabouy ran a 51.80 in the 400 meter race, beating her own WSU record in the process and establishing a new all-time Winona State mark.
