Winona State running back Rayon Simmons has been named Beyond College Sports Division II Athlete of the Week after rushing for 176 yards and four touchdowns in the Warriors' 32-23 win over the University of Mary.

Simmons earned his 176 yards on 34 carries as the Warrior offense held the football for over 40 minutes. Simmons also made four catches for 26 yards to total 202 total yards in the game.

The output was historic for the senior, who broke the Winona State all-time rushing record on a ten-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter. Simmons now has 3,993 rushing yards in his career, the most by any player to wear a Warrior uniform.
