Thank you for your interest in joining the Winona State athletics team! The positions below are intended for Winona State University students who either qualify for work study or are seeking internship or volunteer opportunities to help advance their professional career.
WSU Athletics Staff members will assist at home athletic events in all facets including but not limited to game operations, stats, video/communications, marketing & promotions, box office execution and ticket sales. WSU Athletics Staff members must possess the ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment, be a problem solver and have a passion for athletics. The internships are unpaid but can be used for course credit or on a volunteer basis. WSU Athletics Staff members must have flexible schedules with nights/weekends available to work game days. Athletics Event Coordinator (Work Study)
This position is exclusive to Winona State University students who will assist at home athletic events in all facets including to but not limited to game operations, marketing & promotions, in-game presentation, box office execution, and ticket sales. Student must possess the ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment and be a problem solver. Athletic Event Coordinators start at $18/hour.
Flexible schedule – must have nights/weekends available. Student will be expected to work anywhere from 5-20 hours a week depending on event schedule. If you wish to become a part of this exciting, fast paced organization AND you meet the requirements listed below, please apply.
JOB DUTIES:
- Assist in athletic home events hosted by Winona State
- Assist with implementation of gameday promotions and event logistics
- Providing customer service and fulfillment to corporate sponsors, booster club members, and season ticket holders
- Assist with gameday setup and teardown
- Assist with game presentation (Music, videoboard, scoreboard, PA, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Ability to work under deadline and adhere to specific set of brand guidelines
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
- Ability to take direction
- Ability to problem solve
- Passion for athletics and to think positively
- Available to work through the entire semester/year
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must qualify for Federal Work Study
- Current WSU student (undergraduate or graduate)
Students who do not receive work study are encouraged to apply for internship or volunteer opportunities within the athletic department.
GAMEDAY OPERATIONS & MARKETING (INTERNSHIP)
This position is exclusive to Winona State University students who will assist at home athletic events in all facets including to but not limited to game operations, marketing & promotions, in-game presentation, box office execution, and ticket sales. Student must possess the ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment and be a problem solver. Student must have a passion for athletics and an interest in pursuing a career in the sports industry. The position is an unpaid internship that can be used for course credit or on a volunteer basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be within good academic standing
- Current WSU student (Marketing, Business, and Communications majors preferred)
- Technologically savvy (Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus)
DIGITAL MEDIA/SOCIAL MEDIA (INTERNSHIP)
This position is exclusive to Winona State University students who will assist in the marketing and promotion of all WSU athletic team and community engagement events through various digital media platforms. Student must possess the ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment and be a problem solver. Student must have a passion for athletics and an interest in pursuing a career in the sports or media industries. The position is an unpaid internship that can be used for course credit or on a volunteer basis.
Flexible schedule – must have nights/weekends available. Student will be expected to work anywhere from 5-15 hours a week dependent on event schedule. If you wish to become a part of this exciting, fast paced organization AND you meet the requirements listed below, please apply.
JOB DUTIES:
- Assist with management of digital assets
- Shoot, edit and produce highlights and graphics for all home events
- Produce videos and graphics to promote upcoming games, ticket sales, promotions, etc.
- Generate stimulating content for website and social media platforms (Video, graphics, GIFs, etc.)
- Manage and organize archived footage
- Update web content on winonastatewarriors.com
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
- Be familiar with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Canva, and/or Gipper.
- Be familiar with audio/visual equipment including cameras, tripods and microphones
- Basic video editing and graphic design experience a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve desired goals
- Familiarity with social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube)
- Must be interested in video production
