One of the top players in Winona State history, Heather Reilly (formerly Heather Pierce) took over as the Warriors' head coach prior to the 2011-12 season.
Reilly made an immediate impact on the Warrior squad, leading the team to second place finishes in the NSIC in both of her first two seasons at the helm. The Warriors also advanced to the championship match of the NSIC Tournament in Pierce’s first two campaigns.
The Warriors went 17-6 overall and 10-1 in the NSIC in 2013. Erin Kappers was named the NSIC Senior of the Year while five players earned all-conference honors.
The 2012 season saw WSU go 16-3 overall and 9-1 in the NSIC, good for second place in the league during Pierce’s rookie season. Kappers capped a spectacular first season with the Warriors by being named the NSIC’s Player of the Year after going 15-0 in singles play. Leah Koehler was the NSIC’s Freshman of the Year while Reilly took home the conference’s Coach of the Year honors. Additionally, four Warriors earned all-conference accolades.
Reilly was the 2011 NSIC Player of the Year, capping a career that saw her earn all-conference accolades four times. She was also the league’s Freshman of the Year in 2008 while helping lead the Warriors to the NCAA Regional Tournament in 2011.
