In men's basketball, the Warriors have won two National Championships (2006 and 2008), five NSIC Tournament Championships (2001, 06, 07, 08, 11), 14 NSIC Regular Season Championships. They have made nine NCAA Division II Tournament Appearances and four NAIA Division I Tournament Appearances.  In the 2007-08 season, the Warriors won 38 games, which stands as an NCAA record for wins in a single season, tied with the Kentucky Wildcats. Over the course of two seasons, the Warriors won an NCAA Division II record 57 consecutive games.
In women's basketball, Winona State won the 2011 NSIC Tournament and were crowned the NSIC regular season champion in 2016. The Warriors have advanced to the NCAA tournament three times; 2009, 2011 and 2016. The women's basketball program began playing a varsity schedule in the 1973-74 season, competing as a NAIA program through the 1990-91 season. The program has had one CoSIDAÂ Academic All-America of the Year, Michelle McDonald in 2011-12.
The WSU volleyball program began varsity competition in 1973, first competing in the NAIA before moving to the NCAA Division II ranks in the early 1990's. Two Warriors, Taylor Goar and Danielle Rampart, were named to the 2016 NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team. Four Winona State student-athletes have earned All-America honors; Megan Flom (2019), McKenna Larsen (2016 & 2017), Danielle Rampart (2017) and Susan Brennan (1990).Â
Warrior gymnastics competes in the National Gymnastics College Association (NGCA) and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). The program has produced 45 Academic All-Americans, and has won two NAIA National Championships, in 1985 and 1987. In 2021, Winona State gymnastics and McCown Gymnasium is scheduled to host the 2021 NGCA National Championships.
