SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Winona (49-11) State beat Bemidji State 3-0 to advance to the NSIC Championship against Minnesota State, Mankato. The Mavericks would hold the Warriors to four hits in the 1-0 win.

Lani Van Zyl were named to the NSIC All-Tournament team.
VS BEMIDJI STATE
Lani Van Zyl put the Warriors up 1-0 in the bottom of inning one, driving in
Katelyn Kolb.
McKenna Larsen did not allow the Beavers to get a hit in the first four innings of work, and WSU led 1-0 after four.
The Beavers broke up the no-hitter in the top of the sixth with a one out single. Bemidji State loaded the bases but a Larsen got a fly ball to right field to end the inning and the scoring threat. A BSU error and single by Van Zyl put WSU in business in the sixth with one out. The Warriors scored a pair of insurance runs to secure a 3-0 win.

Shaye Witte added to the lead when she drove in Van Zyl with a sac bunt. Larsen put the Beavers down in order in the top of the seventh.
VS MINNESOTA STATE MANKATO
Winona State threatened in the top of the second, starting the inning with two singles. Minnesota State would get out of the inning with three straight outs.
Minnesota State picked up a solo homer from Ashley Thell to take a 1-0 lead after four innings of play. The Warriors unable to get that run back as the Mavericks won the 2017 NSIC Tournament Championship.
On Monday at 9 a.m. the Warriors will find out where they will be headed for the NCAA Tournament. The selection show will be on ncaa.com.
