The Winona State University women's basketball team lost their final regular season game to Minnesota State Manketo 86-53 Saturday afternoon. The Warriors shooting woes continued, as they shot just 31% from the field and 22.9% from three in the loss.
Winona State struggled to score in the paint, as they had just 10 points, compared to a whopping 52 for Minnesota State.
Emma Fee led the way for the Warriors as she had 12 points on 6-8 shooting to go along with seven boards.
Emily Kieck contributed four assists in the loss.
Fee jumped out of the gate on fire, hitting her first three shots to bring the Warriors within three with 6:46 left in the opening frame.
Ava Sergio hit two free throws to get the Warriors as close as 13-11, but the Mavericks would close on a 7-1 run to open up an eight-point lead at the end of one.

Caitlin Riley midway though the second quarter stopped a 12-0 Maverick run, but it wasn't enough to get the team going as Minnesota State went into the half leading 45-21.
The Warriors played scored nearly as many points in the third quarter (18) as they did the entire first half (21). Unfortunately, Minnesota State kept rolling as they would score 19 in the third and 22 in the fourth to come away with the 33-point victory.
Allie Pickrain hit three shots from behind the arc to bring her season total to 63, tying her mark from last year.
With the loss the Warriors fell to fifth place in the NSIC north. Because of the Warriors owning the tiebreaker, they will host MSU Moorhead in the NSIC first round on Wednesday, February 26 at 5:30 p.m. The winner of Wednesday's game will move on to the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. March 1, where they will take on the winner of Sioux Falls and Minot State.
