Wagner awarded NSIC South Division player of the week

BURNSVILLE, MINN – After leading his team to a weekend sweep over Concordia St. Paul and Minnesota State, Caleb Wagner has been named the NSIC South Men's Basketball Player of the Week. The senior guard is awarded this honor for the second time this season and the third time of his career.

Wagner averaged 22.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, seven assists, 1.5 steals, and shot 48.6% for the Warriors over the weekend. Wagner scored 23 points and hit three shots from behind the arc in a win over Concordia on Friday and added 22 points and a season high nine assists in the victory over Minnesota State on Saturday.

Wagner currently sits at 1403 points for his career and needs just eight more to pass Pete Polus for 15th all time in Warriors history.

The Muskego, Wisconsin native is currently averaging 20.6 points/game which includes a career high 47-point performance against Sioux Falls earlier this year.

Wagner will lead the Warriors in the opening round of the NSIC tournament this Wednesday against Minnesota Crookston. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. inside McCown Gymnasium in Winona.
