Warrior football fans and followers were treated to an impressive win in the early stages of the Winona State 2019 gridiron campaign as WSU earned a 28-0 shutout over Upper Iowa University in week three of the NSIC season.

Winona State saw some standout performances from their defense on the day, with Nick Pridgeon notching seven solo tackles and a pair of Warriors - Clay Schueffner and Romario Gayle - each grabbing an interception. Chris Adams added two sacks to hold the Peacocks scoreless as WSU moved to 2-1 on the season with the clean slate in the visitors' scoreline.

According to NCAA statistics, shutouts on the gridiron are rare; less than 7% of NCAA football games end with one team failing to score.
