Kansas City, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) today announced the 2019-20 NABC Honors Court, recognizing more than 1,350 men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season.
Senior CoSIDA Academic All-American
Caleb Wagner, and juniors
Devin Whitelow,
Andrea Lo Biondo and
Brandon Goebel each earned the NABC Honors Court distinction.
Head coach
Todd Eisner noted, "It was awesome to see Caleb, Devin, Andrea and Brandon recognized for their outstanding individual academic accomplishments by being named to the NABC Honors Court. Being a successful STUDENT-athlete takes a high level of dedication and discipline and these four upperclassmen have exhibited those characteristics in the classroom throughout their time at Winona State."
Wagner is a two-time selection NABC selection, having earned Honors Court distinction in 2018-19 as well.
The four Warriors earning NABC Honors Court status in 2019-20 is the second-highest total under Eisner; the 2015-16 Warrior squad had seven individuals honored.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The NABC Honors Court highlights the talents and gifts that these men possess on the court and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom.
The qualifications are as follows:
1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
2. Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2018-19 academic year.
3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
4. Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
