Winona State concludes 2021 Indoor Track and Field season at NCAA finals

Warriors finish strong in individual and team events

Birmingham, Ala. - The Winona State University women's track and field program wrapped up the 2021 indoor season at the NCAA Championships this evening, finishing strong in both individual and team events. 

Brooklyn Schyvinck competed in the 400-meter finals, earning a seventh-place finish overall with a time of 56.97.  Her mark also ranks as the seventh-fastest Warrior time recorded in the event and was just .43 seconds off her personal best. 

The Winona State 4X400 relay team, competing in the final Warrior event of the 2021 NCAA Division II Indoor championships, earned a 3:48.58 time in the finals, good for sixth place.  Schyvinck, Kalley HarrisMaddy Pietz and Kendall Zeman combined to close out the season with a strong effort.  In their heat, Winona State ran against Hillsdale College, Grand Valley State University and Lincoln-Mo. At 3:48.58, the group garnered the sixth-best Warrior time ever achieved in the event. 

On Friday, March 12,  Michaela Pryor ran in the 200-meter preliminaries, registering a 24.80 official time and barely missing a place in the finals.  However, her mark was good for third all-time in Winona State women's track and field record books and ninth in the Division II ranks for 2021.
