WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University men's basketball team has announced a signee for the 2022-23 season, adding size and depth to the Warrior program. Nate Montgomery, a senior at Watertown (Wis.) High School is set to join WSU next year.
Head coach
Todd Eisner noted, "We are excited to announce the addition of Nate Montgomery to the Warrior Basketball program! Nate is having a tremendous senior season for Watertown HS and we liked his potential when we watched him play this summer with the Wisconsin Crusaders program. He character and work ethic will fit in well with the players in our program and I know he will be committed to improving and competing each day to make us better! We enjoyed having Nate and his family visit campus for our game vs. Upper Iowa and we were convinced he will add great value to our basketball program on and off the court moving forward."
Montgomery, a 6'6" senior forward was a preseason first team All-Conference selection for his high school team and competes for the Wisconsin Crusaders on the AAU circuit. As a junior, Montgomery averaged 12.8 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per contest. So far in his senior season, Montgomery is averaging over 18 points a game and nearly seven rebounds per contest.
