Winona State men's basketball to host UMary in NSIC first round

BURNSVILLE, Minn. - The Winona State University men's basketball team will host a first round Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) postseason contest on Wednesday, Feb. 23, as announced by the league today.

Putting the adage, 'there's no place like home' to the test, the Warriors (15-10,11-9 NSIC) will host the University of Mary Marauders (10-16, 9-12 NSIC) at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23 in McCown Gymnasium, home of WNB Financial Court.  WSU is 8-2 at home this year and have won five of their last six games held in McCown.

Winona State and UMary have played twice this season already, first in a neutral-site contest in Moorhead, Minn. on Nov. 27 and most recently on January 28 in a NSIC matchup in Winona.  WSU was victorious both times, winning by an 86-70 scoreline in November and 89-78 final just three weeks ago.

The winner of the game on Wednesday will face the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs in the quarterfinals at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m.

Further details for the contest on Wednesday - including ticket information - will be posted on www.WINONASTATEWARRIORS.com as soon as it is available.
