WINONA, Minn. – Winona State University head men's basketball coach
Todd Eisner announced the signing of Devon Fielding, who signed his NCAA Division II National Letter of Intent to join the Warriors in 2022.
Fielding, a senior from La Crosse Central High School, was a standout 6'2" guard for the Red Raiders and was named the Mississippi Valle Conference Co-Player of the Year following his senior season. After averaging 15.1 points per game and leading his squad to the WIAA Division 2 State Championship game with a 28-2 overall record, Fielding was named to the All-Area La Crosse Tribune First Team as well as garnering AP All-State Honorable Mention honors.
Head coach
Todd Eisner on Fielding: "We are really excited to add Devon to the Warrior Basketball program! La Crosse Central High School is one of the best programs in the area and the entire state of Wisconsin and Devon was a big reason why this season. We wanted to add players from winning programs and Devon knows the hard work and commitment it takes to be successful. We cannot wait to see Devon in Warrior Purple because he has the ability to impact the game at both ends of the floor. His ability to shoot the ball from the perimeter and attack with the dribble will make him a valuable offensive player. And I know Devon takes great pride in defending the ball, which winning teams have to have. Today is a great day for Warrior Basketball with the addition of Devon Fielding!"
Fielding will be joining the Warriors after WSU reached the 2022 NSIC Tournament following a 15-10 regular season and 11-9 within the NSIC.
