Burnsville, Minn. - The Winona State University women's soccer team earned some postseason hardware, with Warrior standout
Johanna Shubert earning 2023 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) All-Conference honors, as announced recently.
Shubert, a sophomore from Savage, Minn., earned a a place on the 2023 NSIC All-Conference Second Team for her work as a forward for Winona State. Shubert was a key component on the front line of the Warriors' offense, leading the team in goals, points, and shots on goal.
Shubert accumulated 20 shots on goal which yielded five goals, one assist, and 11 total points, tallied across 956 total minutes played this past season. Two of her five goals came against the University of Minnesota Crookston on Sep. 29, a day in which the WSU offense was unstoppable in a 4-0 Warrior win. Schubert's remaining three goals came in matches against MSU-Moorhead, the University of Sioux Falls, and the University of Minnesota Duluth. Shubert had a season high eight total shots - four on frame - coming against USF. Shubert ended the regular season 13th in the NSIC in shots on goal and goals scored, and was 14th in the league in overall points.
