WINONA, Minn. - It is a divide and conquer weekend for the Winona State University track & field team as the Warriors will compete at the Drake Relays on Thursday-Friday, April 27-28 and at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire Johnson Invitational on Friday, April 27.
Winona State is currently ranked No. 11 as a team in the latest USTFCCCA NCAA Division II team rankings. WSU has had several new program records set during the 2022-23 outdoor campaign, including
Lindsay Cunningham, a junior from Wisconsin Dells, Wis., who set a new Winona State all-time best mark in the 10K run, turning in a time of 32:43.64 at the Mt. Sac Relays at Mt. San Antonio College. In addition to setting the fastest Warrior time ever in the event, Cunningham's mark is also the third-fastest time ever in the in NCAA Division II ranks.
Also in California earlier this year, WSU's
Shereen Vallabouy ran a 51.80 in the 400 meter race, beating her own Winona State record in the process and establishing a new all-time Warrior mark. On the same trip,
Kaylee Beyer established a new top Winona State time in the 800 meters with a clocking of 2:09.72 at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Most recently, Winona State took third as a team at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge on Saturday, April 22. At the event, WSU was paced by
Alyssa Larson who won the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.01 and
Kaylee Beyer won the 5000-meter run with a time of 17:05.13.
At the Drake Relays, four Winona State student-athletes;
McKenna Taylor,
Lindsay Cunningham,
Brooklyn Schyvinck and
Kaylee Beyer, will compete against the nation's best. Taylor and Cunningham are set to compete in the 5000-meters on Thursday, April 27 while Schyvinck (400 hurdles) and Beyer (1500-meter) will compete on Friday, April 28. Live results for the Drake Relays

The UW- Eau Claire Dick Johnson Invitational will see a host of Warriors participate in both track and field events, beginning with the long jump at 1 p.m. Friday's meet will mark the first appearance at UW-Eau Claire stadium this spring for Winona State. Follow the
