WINONA, Minn. - Winona State University is set to host the 2023 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Central / Midwest Regional at The Bridges Golf Course in Winona over May 11-13 as some of the top men's college golf programs and players compete for the right to advance to the NCAA Division II National Tournament.
Twenty teams and eight individual qualifiers from two regions, the Central and the Midwest, converge on The Bridges Golf Course in Winona for the top-tier event. The three-day competition begins on Thursday, May 11 and will conclude on Saturday, May 13. Following the competition, six teams and two individuals will advance to the 2023 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships held on May 23 - 26, 2023 at Avalon Lakes Country Club in Warren, Ohio.
Among the eight individual qualifiers competing this week is Winona State standout
Alessandro Trenta, who was recently named the 2023 NSIC Player-of-the-Year and the 2023 Newcomer-of-the-Year by coaches around the league. Trenta, a freshman from Kilwandgen, Switzerland, took top honors in the 2022 NCAA Preview event held on .
