WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University men's basketball team travels back to Missouri, but this time to face off against the University of Missouri - St. Louis on Wednesday, November 13 at 6pm. The Warriors are coming off of a weekend split in the 2024 Central Region Challenge defeating Pittsburg State 75-60, and dropping a game against Henderson State 74-69.
Winona State (1-1, 0-0 NSIC) defeated UMSL last season, winning 74-67.
Connor Drew collected nine points and six rebounds in the contest, while
Devon Fielding had nine points and two rebounds.
Winona State Notes:
- Through two games, the Warriors are shooting 50.5% from the field and 36.1% from beyond the arc.
- True Freshman Tyler Mason made his first career start for the Warriors over the weekend averaging 30.5 minutes per game.
- The Warriors average 16 turnovers a game.
- Luke Haertle leads the team in scoring at 18ppg while also leading the team in assists at 4apg.
- Isaiah Thompson leads the team in rebounds at 8.5.
- Warriors defense is holding teams to 42.7% from the field and 20.4% from beyond the arc.
University of Missouri - St. Louis:
- UMSL began the season at the JustAGame Crossover, dropping both games.
- The Tritons average 60 points per game while allowing 74.5.
- Missouri - St. Louis shoots 44.3% from the field and 29.4% from 3pt.
- Emanuel Prospere II, Matt Enright, and KC Udolisa all average more than 11ppg for the Tritons.
- Troy Glover II leads the team in rebounds at 5.5.
