WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University men's basketball team will host Augustana University on Friday, February 9, and Wayne State College on Saturday, February 10. The Warrior-Viking showdown will start at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and the WSU – WSC matchup will see a 5:30 p.m. tip on Saturday.
Winona State (14-9, 9-8 NSIC) faces a tough Augustana team who ranks just above them in the NSIC standings. On Saturday, the Warriors will face a Wayne State team which sits tenth in the conference. AU enters the weekend winning seven of their last eight games, while Wayne State comes off an overtime loss at home against Minnesota Duluth 78-79 and will play the No. 2-ranked Mavericks at home on Friday before the Warriors make their way to McCown Gymnasium, home of WNB Financial Court.
Leading the Warriors on the season is Connor Dillon with 21.7 points per game, while also being second on the team in total assists (62) and steals (24). Connor Dillon is coming off an impressive NSIC weekend, leading him to NSIC Shining Five honors announced by the NSIC. Warrior teammate Brock Voigt is second on the squad with 10.5 points per game and leads the team in offensive rebounds (42).
