MEN’S BASKETBALL BEGINS THE NEW YEAR IN REMATCH AGAINST CONCORDIA-ST. PAUL

WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State men's basketball team continues their 2025-26 regular season with a home matchup against NSIC foe Concordia-St. Paul.

The Warriors will seek revenge after falling to the Golden Bears 83-58 earlier in the 2025-26 season in St. Paul, Minn on November 19. Alessandro Tonelli led WSU in the contest with 14 points.

Winona State Notes:
  • Winona State enters the week 3-9 (2-5 NSIC) after falling to Wayne State 65-64 on December 20.
  • The Warriors enter the 2025-26 season ranked ninth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll. 
  • Head Coach Todd Eisner is in his 11th season at the helm of the program. He is 161-127 during his tenure with the Warriors. 
  • Winona State enters the week averaging 65.7 ppg and giving up 78.1 ppg.
  • WSU is 44.5% (291-of-654) from the field and 31.2% (81-of-259) from three-point range. Winona State is first in the NSIC in free throw percentage at a clip of 76.2% (125-of-164).
  • Ryan Heise plans to get the Warriors back in the win column. Heise is averaging 12.0 ppg on 52.9% (54-of-102) shooting and 5.3 rpg.
  • Tyler Mason chips in with a sturdy 11.1 ppg with Aidan Bardic leading the team with 2.8 assists per game.
  • Following this week, the Warriors stay at home hosting Minnesota-Crookston and MSU Moorhead on January 9 and 10 respectively.
 
Concordia-St. Paul Notes:
  • Concordia-St. Paul looks to regroup in the new year after a pair of NSIC losses to Wayne State and Augustana to end the 2025 portion of their season.
  • CSP is 8-5 (3-4 NSIC) during the 2025-26 campaign.
  • The Golden Bears enter the 2025-26 season ranked fourth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll. 
  • Head Coach Matt Fletcher is in his 10th year with the team, compiling a record of 128-123 in his tenure.
  • The Golden Bears average 83.1 ppg while allowing 81.8 ppg to opponents.
  • Ben Kopetzki is a key player to watch averaging 21.5 points while Sam West leads the team with 5.5 rpg and 5.2 apg.
  • Following the game against the Warriors, CSP returns home to play MSU Moorhead and Minnesota Crookston on January 9-10.
