WARRIORS FALL AT MINNESOTA DULUTH

DULUTH, Minn.- The Winona State men's basketball team was defeated 71-50 at Minnesota Duluth.

WSU was unable to dig themselves out of a 35-19 hole at halftime as they lost by 21 points in the NSIC contest. Jaron Crews registered a season-high 19 points in the loss.

How it Happened:
Winona State cut an earlier UMD lead to 8-5 after a Ryan Heise jumper assisted by Tyler Mason at 15:26. Gavyn Hurley scored on a layup from Tyler Borowski at 8:09 making it 17-9 Bulldogs. Minnesota Duluth's Matt Thompson buried a three-ball at 7:47 to give UMD a 20-9 advantage. Tyson Keil dunked at 1:11 to cut the deficit to 29-13. Crews knocked home a three-pointer at 0:28 to put the contest at 32-16. Crews followed a Kole Hanson three-pointer with three free throws at 0:01 ending the half 35-19 UMD.

Aidan Bardic entered the scoresheet with a layup at 19:20 putting the game at 35-21 Bulldogs. Thompson connected on a three-ball followed by a Noah Paulson layup gave the Minnesota Duluth a comfortable 46-23 edge at 13:32. Alessandro Tonelli chipped into Bulldogs lead with a three-pointer at 12:35 making the contest 46-26 UMD. Crews registered five points in a row for the Warriors, putting the game at 54-35 at 8:27. Back-to-back threes by Crews kept WSU within 17 points at 60-43 at 5:25. Jackson Hayes added a late jumper, ending the contest at 71-50 Bulldogs.
