WINONA STATE MEN’S GOLF WINS 2026 NSIC CHAMPIONSHIP; MAX JERICHO EARNS INDIVIDUAL TITLE

SMITHVILLE, Mo. – Winona State men's golf won the 2026 NSIC Men's Golf Championship and Max Jericho earned the individual championship to lead WSU to the dominating win.
 
This is Winona State's 16th NSIC championship in men's golf and the first since 2021, while Jericho is the 17th Warrior individual medalist and first since 2023.
 
After overcoming an eight-stroke deficit after the first round, Winona State took a five-stroke lead heading into today's final round of the tournament. WSU ran away with the championship victory, being the only team under par in round three and winning by 20 strokes.
 
The Warriors carded rounds of 294 (+6), 291 (+3), and 282 (-6) for a tournament total of 867 (+3) to defeat the field by 20 strokes. Concordia-St. Paul finished second with an 887 (+23) while Sioux Falls took third with an 886 (+24).
 
Jericho earned the individual championship, holding off teammate Peyton Coahran's final-round surge by one stroke. Finishing the tournament with a 75 (+3), Jericho was the only golfer to finish under par after notching rounds of 70 (-2), 70 (-2), and 75 (+3) to shoot 215 (-1) overall.
 
Coahran, who was 11 strokes back heading into the final round, tied Jericho with just three holes to go and concluded the tournament with a seven-under 65 to jump 19 spots and finish runner-up. Coahran tallied rounds of 76 (+4), 75 (+3), and 65 (-7) to finish with an even-par 216.
 
Javier Ramos Casariego finished tied for eighth overall, golfing rounds of 74 (+2), 75 (+3), and a final round of 70 (-2) to shoot three-over par for the tournament. Logan Chouinard was the next Warrior, earning 13th place after carding rounds of 74 (+2), 72 (+4), and 72 (E) to finish with a 222 (+6). Luke Maas rounded out the WSU lineup with a 77 (+5), 77 (-1), and 75 (+3) to finish 14th overall with a 223 (+7).
 
Jericho and Coahran each earned NSIC All-Tournament Team honors after finishing first and second overall.

Winona State earns the NSIC's automatic bid into the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Midwest/Central Super Regional which will be played on May 7-8 at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich.
