PEYTON COAHRAN AND JEFF STRAIGHT HIGHLIGHT NSIC AWARDS AS FOUR WARRIORS EARN ALL-NSIC HONORS

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Winona State's Peyton Coahran was named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Men's Golfer of the Year while head coach Jeff Straight was tabbed the NSIC Men's Coach of the Year. Four Warriors in total earned First Team All-NSIC accolades.
 
Coahran was joined by Javier Ramos Casariego, Max Jericho, and Luke Maas on the All-NSIC First Team.
 
Coahran, a senior from Spicer, Minn., capped his collegiate career with a season scoring average of 71.4 over 26 rounds, which led the league. Coahran won four events during the 2025-26 season, including five top-five finishes. Coahran finished runner-up at the NSIC Championships after carding a season low round score of 65 during the final day. Coahran is the fifth WSU student-athlete to earn NSIC Men's Golfer of the Year honors.
 
Straight led the Warriors to their 16th NSIC Men's Golf Championship, defeating the field by 20 strokes. Throughout the season, Winona State did not lose to a single NSIC team in any tournament. Straight coached four All-NSIC First Team performers this season to be named the NSIC Men's Golf Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his career.
 
Casariego, a sophomore from A Coruna, Spain, notched a season average of 72.8 and finished top-10 in seven of 10 events for the Warriors.
 
Maas, a junior from Watertown, Minn., was steady for Winona State all season, notching a scoring average of 72.8. Maas tallied two runner-up finishes with seven total events inside the top 10.

Jericho, a sophomore from Loveday, Australia, was the 2026 NSIC Individual Medalist after earning his first career win at the conference championships. Jericho added two other top-10 finishes throughout the season while holding a 74.1 scoring average.
 
Winona State is gearing up for the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Central/Midwest Super Regional which begins on Thursday, May 7th in Big Rapids, Michigan.
