WINONA, Minn. - Winona State University Deputy Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator Melanie Brunsdon has been selected to serve on the NCAA Division II Championships Committee.
Brunsdon, who has been on staff since July 2018, began her four-year term in August 2026. The timing coincides with her rolling off the NCAA Division II Membership Committee, of which she was chair since January 2026.
"NCAA governance committee work is a tremendous opportunity to give back to the membership," said Brunsdon. "I am grateful to represent Winona State on the national level and look forward to collaborating with other leaders across Division II to enhance the student-athlete experience."
The Championships Committee is the primary oversight group responsible for administering policies and procedures surrounding the division's 25 championships. The committee oversees the budget and conduct of these championships, as well as the qualification and selection procedures for each. Additionally, all Division II sport committees report directly to the Championships Committee.
