ALLENDALE, Mich. --- The Winona State men's golf team opened its 2026-27 season at the Midwest/Central Regional Preview on Sept. 14-15 at The Meadows at Grand Valley State.
 
The Warriors finished 15th overall with 905 strokes across three rounds, finishing between Hillsdale, which carded 900 strokes, and Tiffin, which finished with 909. Grand Valley State won the event with 862 total strokes.
 
NSIC Preseason Player of the Year Javier Ramos Casariego led the Warriors, finishing 22nd overall with rounds of 74, 71 and 75 for a 7-over 220. Max Jericho followed in a tie for 70th at 16-over 229 after rounds of 82, 76 and 71. Logan Chouinard rounded out the Warriors' top three finishers, tying for 79th at 18-over 231 with rounds of 76, 76 and 79.
 
Luke Maas tied for 90th at 22-over 235 with rounds of 77, 75 and 83, while Diego Olano tied for 101st at 25-over 238 after rounds of 89, 74 and 75.
 
As a team, the Warriors recorded the eighth-most pars in the tournament with 150, finishing one behind both Rockhurst and Central Oklahoma. Casariego tied for 10th individually with 35 total pars across the three rounds.
