Jeff Straight

Jeff Straight joined Winona State as an assistant coach in 2014, then became the head men's golf coach in 2015. In 2018, Straight was promoted to Director of Golf – overseeing both the Warrior men's and women's programs. Straight retired from Winona State in June of 2026 as one of the winningest golf coaches in the programs history.

AT WINONA STATE

  • 2025-2026 Men’s Golf record 113-21, ranked 36th in the nation & 3rd in the Central Region 5 tournament wins, finished 7th at Regionals. undefeated against NSIC and GAC Conferences.
  • 2026 NCAA DII Men's Central Region Coach of the Year
  • Peyton Coahran qualified for Nationals in 2026 and finished 16th.
  • 2025-2026 Women’s Golf record 71-56, ranked 82nd in the nation & 18th in the Central Region, team made NCAA regionals.
  • 4-time NSIC Coach of the Year for Men’s Golf
  • Led WSU Men’s Team to the NCAA Super Regionals 9 out of his 11 years.
  • 4-time NSIC Tournament Championships, including 2026, have finished in the top 2 every year.
  • Men’s Golf overall tournament record 1015–383 the past 11 seasons, 26 career tournament wins, 2025 fall all-time team scoring records of -18 for one round and -30 for a two-day tournament at the Jewel Invitational.
  • Women’s Golf tournament record 506-431 record in the past 8 years, 4 tournament wins.
  • Men’s Team GPA of 3.35 or higher in each of the last 8 seasons.
  • Women’s Team GPA of 3.60 or higher each of the last 6 seasons.
  • Individual Academic Awards, 11 Myles Brand award winners, 5 NSIC Elite 18 award winners.
  • Hosted 48 college tournaments including the 2023 NCAA Super Regionals
  • Served on Men’s Golf Coaches Connection for the NSIC, Women’s Golf National Poll Voter.
