Soccer Falls 3-0 To Minnesota State In Final Home Match

WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State women's soccer team fell 3-0 to Minnesota State in their final home match of 2016. The Mavericks picked up a quick goal and never looked back. 
 
Minnesota State's Jenny Hoerter scored the first goal of the night in the second minute of action assisted by Dana Savino. Morgan Cottew of Minnesota State would dounle the lead, doing so in the 17th minute, assisted by Abby Hausken, giving MSU a 2-0 at the half.
 
In the 54th minute Minnesota State would strike yet again. Hoerter would assist Cottew on her second goal of the night, making it 3-0.
 
Meg Riebau and Abby Bohanski were the only two Warriors to get chances at the goal. They were held to only allowed two shots on the night, with one on goal. The Warriors would not pick up any corner kick opportunities in either half.
 
Warrior goal keeper Oleson allowed three goals while having six stops, moving her to 2-5 on the season. Minnesota State goal keeper Ryann Rydeen would face and stop just one goal, moving her to 4-0 on the season.
 
Tonight's loss eliminates the Warriors from post season contention.
 
The Warriors (12-3-2, 11-2-1 NSIC) will travel to St. Paul to face Concordia St. Paul (5-8-4, 5-5-4 NSIC) in their final game of the season.
