WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State (20-6, 15-5 NSIC) women's basketball team will be on the road to face Augustana and Wayne State for the final games of the regular season. The Warriors are currently ranked second overall in the NSIC behind #12 Minnesota State Moorhead (21-3, 18-2 NSIC). They are tied with Augustana for the lead in the NSIC South Division (20-7, 15-5 NSIC).
The Warriors currently rank No. 10 in the Central Region, the top eight in the region move on the the NCAA National Tournament including the conference champion from the three conferences that comprise the Central Region, the Great American Conference (GAC), Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) and the Northern Sun Collegiate Conference (NSIC).
The Warriors fell in the NSIC Championship game against the University of Sioux Falls a year ago but still qualified for their third NCAA Tournament appearance where they advanced to the regional semifinals and would fall to Emporia State 66-62.
