ROSEMONT, Ill. – Winona State (8-1) made it eight in a row with a 6-2 win over Wayne State (Mich.) on Sunday, marking a perfect 5-5 weekend in Illinois. A big five-run fourth inning was enough for the Warriors to pick up the win.

After a quiet two innings for both teams the Warriors got on the board in the top of the third. After a fielding error, fielder's choice and stolen base
Shaye Witte sat on second base with one out. Following a fly out to left,
Jamee Schleis singled to right, driving in Witte.

Errors would help the Warriors in their big fourth inning.
McKenna Larsen reached on a throwing error to get the inning going. After a strikeout and back-to-back singles from
Allyson O'Herron and
Lani Van Zyl, the bases were loaded with Warriors. Another fielding error would allow three runs to score and put WSU up 4-0.
Katelyn Kolb drove in Schultz with a RBI ground out. The final and fifth unearned run of the inning scored on a single by Schleis.

Wayne State would get on the board in the bottom of the fifth, scoring two runs on three hits. Up until that inning starter,
Jordyn Kleman had not allowed a hit.
McKenna Larsen would relieve starter Kleman in the sixth inning and scattered a hit in each of the last two innings to earn her second save of the year.
