BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Winona State University's Becca Pagel has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for September 4-10.
The freshman libero totaled 89 digs over four matches last weekend for an average of 5.9 digs per set. She recorded a career-best 31 digs in Winona's come-from-behind 3-2 win over Grand Valley State to cap the Warriors' perfect weekend at the University of Indianapolis Invitational.
Pagel also chipped in 23 set assists and five service aces as WSU improved to 6-2 this season.
The Sumner, Iowa native currently ranks fourth in the NSIC in total digs (158) and digs per set (5.45) this season.
No. 11 Winona State University travels to Minnesota State-Mankato on Thursday before hosting No. 2 Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday at 4 p.m.
