Flom and Maloney earn NSIC Volleyball Player of the Week honors

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – After picking up two road wins over Top 25 teams, Winona State University has been bestowed a pair of individual accolades by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). Megan Flom has been named the NSIC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week and Bre Maloney the Setter of the Week.

Both junior players earn the respective awards for the first time in their career.

Flom totaled 28 kills and a .520 attacking percentage, while committing just two hitting errors last weekend. She floored 11 kills at No. 19 Sioux Falls and followed that up with a season-high 17 kills and a career-best .552 hitting percentage at No. 8 SMSU. Flom added three service aces, three digs and nine blocks to her impressive stat line.

Maloney set the Warrior offense to a .296 attacking percentage as Winona State swept both nationally-ranked opponents. She averaged 12.33 assists/set, recorded three blocks, five kills and 14 digs over the weekend. Maloney's 39 assists at No. 8 SMSU matched her season high for a three-set match.

(RV) Winona State will await the newest AVCA Poll, set to be released Monday evening, as the Warriors are likely to join the Top 25 for the first time since the 2018 Preseason Poll.

Winona State returns home this weekend for Homecoming as the Warriors host two more tough opponents in their weekly grind of a conference schedule. WSU hosts No. 15 Wayne State on Friday at 7 p.m. and concludes the weekend against (RV) Augustana University at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
