GREENWOOD, Ind. – Winona State University's Megan Flom has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Volleyball Academic All-District Team – becoming the first player in program history to earn the award since the Warriors became an NCAA Division II member.

By virtue of being named to the Academic All-District First Team, Flom is now eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America voting.

Flom, who was named to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) First Team earlier on Thursday, is having a career year for the Warriors. The junior's .408 hitting percentage ranks second in the NSIC and seventh among all Division II players. Flom's .452 clip over 18 conference matches leads all NSIC players.

The middle blocker has recorded new career highs this season in kills (325), kills/set (3.96), solo blocks (16), block assists (47), total blocks (63) and service aces (18).  

Flom was named the NSIC Offensive Player of the Week twice this season and the NCAA Division II National Player of the Week on October 8th.

In the classroom, Flom has a 3.89 cumulative G.P.A. while majoring in Elementary Education/K-6 Education. She was a 2018 NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence recipient and is eligible for that honor again in 2019.

CoSIDA Volleyball Academic All-Americans will be announced in early December.

The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs.
