Winona State ranked No. 10 in Central Region Volleyball rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The first of three NCAA Division II Regional Volleyball rankings has been released, tabbing Winona State University No. 10 in the Central Region.

The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) has six of the 10 teams ranked in the Central: No. 2 Minnesota Duluth, No. 3 Concordia-St. Paul, No. 4 Northern State, No. 5 St. Cloud State, No. 9 Wayne State and No. 10 Winona State.

The NSIC, Mid-America Athletic Association (MIAA) and Great American Conference (GAC) make up the 39-team Central Region. The top eight teams in the region advance to the NCAA Regional Tournament. Automatic bids are granted to the winners of the GAC, MIAA and NSIC postseason tournament, with the five remaining spots awarded on an at-large basis.

Winona State made its first-ever NCAA DII Regional appearance in 2016 and fell one spot shy of the qualifying field in 2017.

The Warriors (18-6, 10-6 NSIC) are ranked No. 16 in the AVCA Coaches' Poll which accounts for teams across all regions.

The NCAA Volleyball Selection Show will be streamed online on Sunday, November 25 at 6:30 p.m. on NCAA.com.

Winona State concludes the road portion of its regular season schedule this weekend at Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston.
