Flom named to AVCA and D2CCA All-Region Volleyball Teams

WINONA, Minn. – After a record-breaking season on the court, the postseason accolades have begun to roll in for Winona State University's Megan Flom, who earned a pair of All-Region accolades on Wednesday.

The junior garnered First Team All-Central Region recognition from both the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA). Flom becomes just the fifth different player in the Winona State's Division II-era to receive All-Region honors from the AVCA and is the first ever to be named to the First Team.

Flom set a program record in 2019 with a .391 hitting percentage – shattering the previous mark of .357 set by her former teammate Maria Wrage in 2017. Flom's hitting percentage ranked 10th among all Division II players this season.

The middle blocker hit a scorching .443 over 20 NSIC matches this year in arguably the toughest conference in the country.

Overall, Flom ranked third in the NSIC in hitting percentage and ninth in kills/set. Her 3.81 kills/set are the fifth best in Warrior program history.

In addition to her offensive prowess, Flom ranked second on the team in total blocks (77), solo blocks (21) and block assists (56), while ranking third in service aces (20). Each of those stats, along with her team-leading 358 kills are new career highs.

Flom was named to the All-NSIC First Team last month, along with becoming the first Warrior in a decade to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District honors for her combined excellence in the classroom and on the court. Flom was twice named the NSIC Offensive Player of the Week in 2019 and garnered NCAA DII National Player of the Week honors once.
