WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State University women's tennis team rolled to its fifth straight win Friday night with a 5-2 victory over the University of Sioux Falls. The victory sets up a first-place matchup between the Warriors and Augustana Vikings on Saturday afternoon at the Winona Tennis Center.
As has been the case in all five triumphs to date, WSU earned the team point after doubles with wins by Beth Murman & Kaisey Skibba (Doubles No. 1) and Tayla Card & Kendra Kappes (No. 2).
Kappes improved to 6-0 on the season with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at Singles No. 2. Caitlin Anderson won her fifth straight singles match at No. 5, and Card was a 6-3, 6-2 winner at No. 4. Skibba added a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3 as the Warriors prevailed.
Saturday's matchup will feature a pair of undefeated teams in WSU and Augie battling for the top spot in the conference standings. First serve is slated for 3:30 p.m. in Winona.
