KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Day two of the 2019 NSIC Men's Golf Championship is in the book, and the Winona State University Warriors continue to lead the pack. The Warriors extended their lead by two strokes on Friday to enter Saturday's final round with a nine-stroke advantage on Bemidji State.
Winona State's Ben Jasper moved atop the individual player leaderboard with a second round score of 73 (+2). Tyler Beeck shaved one stroke off his round one total and carded a 73 (+2) on Friday, and sits in third place overall entering the final round on Saturday.
Brady Madsen carded a 77 (+6) in round two and is tied for sixth place individually while Michael Schmitz is just outside the top-10 after shooting a 77 as well on Friday to round out the team scores. Bentley Glass posted an 83 (+12) in round two.
Winona State held its No. 10 position in the final NCAA Division II Central Region Rankings released on Friday afternoon. The winner of the 2019 NSIC Championship will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Super Regional.
The final 18-holes of this year's NSIC Championship will begin on Saturday morning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. at Shoal Creek Golf Club.
