Winona State University adding new Daktronics videoboard at Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium

WINONA, Minn. – Winona State University has partnered with Daktronics to improve the audiovisual fan experience at Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium – home of Warrior football and women's soccer. The new LED videoboard, to be installed this summer, will be one of the first collegiate installations to include 10-millimeter SMD outdoor technology and the largest display Daktronics has installed in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).

"We are excited about the enhanced fan experience this videoboard will bring to our home events at Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium," WSU Athletic Director Eric Schoh said. "We are thankful to the many donors who have made this possible. To have a state-of-the-art board and sound system from the industry leader is what our fans and student-athletes deserve."

The videoboard will replace the current scoreboard in the South endzone. A live video feed of the construction work can be viewed, here.

The new display will measure approximately 23 feet high by 41 feet wide to bring 930 square feet of live video, instant replays, statistics, graphics, sponsorship messages and more to Winona State fans before, during and after events held at the stadium. The 10-millimeter line spacing will bring excellent image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility to appeal to fans in every seat.

"Not only is this one of the first college stadium installations featuring 10-millimeter SMD outdoor technology, it's also extremely unique due to the close proximity of the video board to the fans," said Joey Hulsebus, Daktronics sales representative. "This project will bring an added audiovisual element to the game day experience that Winona State Warrior fans simply can't get anywhere else, and we're looking forward to seeing the final result later this summer."

Integrated with the video system, a Daktronics Sportsound® 1500HD audio system will provide full-range sound reproduction with clear and intelligible speech for a quality, powerful experience for Warriors fans.

The videoboard is capable of variable content zoning allowing it to show one large image or to be separated into multiple zones to show any variety of content simultaneously.

The videoboard is phase one of a planned stadium renovation.
