Winona State blanks UMD, 7-0

WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State University tennis team capped a perfect start to their season with a dominant 7-0 win over Minnesota Duluth on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors have won two matches in as many days to begin their 2020 campaign.

Just as they did on Friday against St. Cloud State, the Warriors' doubles teams sweep the competition. Then, kept the trend going with nothing but wins in singles competition.

Beth Murman (No. 1), Kendra Kappes (No. 2), Kaisey Skibba (No. 3), Rachel Kelly (No. 4), Tayla Card (No. 5) and Rina Niehoff (No. 6) each posted victories in their respective singles' matchups.

Skibba came from behind for a 3-6, 6-4, 10-3 triumph. Niehoff also went the distance for her first solo win of the year, 6-4, 5-7, 12-10.

The Warriors will travel to Sioux Falls next weekend to take on the defending NSIC Champion, Augustana Vikings, and the University of Sioux Falls.
