The Winona State tennis team easily took down Dickinson college 6-0 Tuesday morning before falling 6-1 to a good Lee University team.
The match against Dickinson was unvonventional, as wet courts and time constraints didn't allow for any doubles matches and put a time limit on the #1 and #2 singles matches.
Even with these constraints,
Beth Murman won her #1 singles match 8-3 and
Kendra Kappes was an 8-2 winner at #2 singles. Rina Neihoff (7-5, 6-3) won at #3 singles while
Audrey Delich (5-7, 6-2, 10-4) worked hard for a tough three set victory at #4 singles. Brook Jorgensen close out singles with a 6-1, 6-1 win at the #5 slot.
The Warriors took the win at #6 singles due to a forfeit by Dickinson.
Lee opened up their match against the Warriors by taking all the doubles matches to get the opening point.
Beth Murman was the only Warrior to come out victorious in singles, as she won 7-6, 0-6, 10-3 at the #1 slot.
Rachel Kelly put up a great fight, but would fall in three sets (4-6, 6-2, 7-10) at #4 singles.
The Warriors will face Shippensburg at 9 a.m. and Quincy at 3 p.m. today to close out their Florida trip.
