Kansas City, Mo.-- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today the NCAA men's basketball programs that earned the annual Team Academic Excellence Award, which reflects outstanding academic achievements by teams who earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better for the 2019-20 season.
For the fifth consecutive year, Winona State University men's basketball has earned the Team Academic Award. In addition, it was announced July 15 that four individual Warrior student-athletes were named to the prestigious NABC Honors Court. Read more on the NABC Honors Court announcement

According to head coach
Todd Eisner, "We are very proud that our players have continued to excel academically at Winona State University. Our team is very fortunate to have such strong guidance from
Justin Loehr, who does an outstanding job overseeing the players with their class schedules and academic progress each semester. It is a point of pride in our program to be recognized each year by the NABC and receive the Team Academic Award each of the five years I have been at WSU."
Winona State was one of eleven Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) programs to earn the Team Academic Award for the 2019-20 season.
To receive the Team Academic Excellence Award, a program must achieve a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the previous season. Each institution must count the grade point averages of all men's student-athletes competing during the previous season in all NCAA Divisions, all NAIA Divisions, and all two-year colleges with a full-time NABC member coach.
