Winona State soccer travels to Mankato

WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University women's soccer team returns to the road today for a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference contest, with the Warriors set take on Minnesota State - Mankato on Sunday, Oct. 10. Kickoff is scheduled for 1pm. 

The Warriors (3-6 / 2-5 NSIC) will be facing a Maverick squad currently 5-1-1 in the league and 7-2-1 overall. 

The Mavericks are in the midst of a five game unbeaten streak and have earned shutouts in their past four matches. MSU-Mankato goalkeepers Clare Longueville and Mackenzie Rath have both seen significant time in goal, with Longueville owning a 4-1 record and 1.06 GAA. Rath has gone 3-1-1 in her five starts with a pair of solo shutouts and one shared clean sheet. Offensively, Jenny Vetter leads the team with nine goals and one assist on the year, including a four-goal game against Upper Iowa on Friday. 

Winona State is looking to snap a three-game losing skid, having had two tough road matches at North Dakota, dropping a pair of 1-0 defeats to Minot State and UMary, respectively. WSU most recently played at Concordia St. Paul, dropping a 2-1 decision to the Golden Bears.  Riley Harmon leads the team in goals scored with three and  Ellie Wardell has notched four assists this season. Emily Chudik also has a pair of goals to her credit. Missy Greco has two assists, while Jamie Kwon, Ella Roberts, Jaida Wiege and have scored on the year.  Alyson Jumper and Yanel Ortiz have both conceded five goals each, across eight games.
