#11 Winona State defeats Bemidji State on the road

BEMIDJI, Minn. – The #11 Winona State University volleyball team maintained their winning ways on Saturday, beating Bemidji State 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-15) to maintain their perfect road record so far in 2021.

In the win, Bemidji State had no answer for Megan Flom, as the NSIC Preseason Player of the Year racked up 13 kills and owned a .545 hitting mark. Defensively, Becca Pagel was one of three Warriors to reach double digits in digs, with Bre Maloney and Casey Volkman claiming ten each. Cori Meyers had nine digs as well. Madison Rizner had two of WSU's four blocks and Maloney had 30 assists on the event.

At 14-1, the 2021 Warrior team now claims the best record at the 15-match mark of the season of any squad in program history, eclipsing the 2019 WSU squad (12-3), the 2016 team (13-2), both under Joe Getzin, and the 1987 Warrior program, which started 13-2.

#11 Winona State now turns its attention to early next week, when WSU will face the fourth-ranked Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears on the road. CSP is 13-2 overall and 7-0 in NSIC play, having defeated UMD 3-2 earlier today.  Start time for the two nationally-ranked teams is 6pm in the Ganglehoff Center.
