Warrior Game Day: Women's Soccer

WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State University women's soccer team travels to play at Wayne State this afternoon, Oct. 29 at 3pm before coming back home for senior day against Augustana on Sunday, Oct. 31 for a 1pm matchup.

The Warriors (4-9-1, 3-8-1 NSIC) are coming off back-to-back 1-0 losses at MSU Moorhead and Northern State from a weekend ago. Winona State will look to rebound and gain several points in the NSIC standings as the season winds down.

The Wayne State Cougars (4-7-4, 4-5-3 NSIC) lost to St. Cloud State in double overtime their last time on the pitch. Madison Kemp has been WSC's main offensive threat, leading the team with four goals with 16 shots on goal. Katherine Hageman has been their main goalkeeper, starting 13 games in net and holds a 0.845 save percentage. The Cougars are currently in eighth place within NSIC standings.

The Augustana Vikings (10-3-2, 9-1-2 NSIC) are riding a seven-game win streak, most recently defeating Minnesota Duluth 2-0. The Vikings have allowed just three goals during their past seven games, and currently sit in third place in the NSIC standings. Alexis Legg leads Augustana with seven goals on the season, and Syliva Fehr leads the team with 12 assists. Jillian Barkus has played 15 games in net, boasting a save percentage of 0.855 for the Vikings.

Winona State is led offensively in scoring by Riley Harmon, who has found the back of the net four times this season. Four Warriors have scored two goals, and four others have scored one goal. Missy Greco leads the way with 35 shots and 21 shots on goal. Ellie Wardell leads the team with four assists. Yanel Ortiz and Alyson Jumper have shared time in net for Winona State, and each have a save percentage of over .800.

Sunday's match against Augustana will be senior day. The Warriors will honor eight different seniors who will be playing in their last home game at Winona State.
