BISMARCK, N.D. - The Winona State University women's soccer team wraps up their first road trip of 2021 with a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) match against the University of Mary today, Sunday, Oct. 3. Kickoff at the MDU Resources Community Bowl is set for 1pm.
The Warriors (3-4 / 2-3 NSIC) and the Marauders (5-1-2 / 4-0-1 NSIC) meet for the first time since Oct. 25, 2019 when Winona State dealt UMary a 2-1 loss in Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium. Winona State is coming off a narrow 1-0 loss to league-leading Minot State on Friday, while the University of Mary most recently defeated Upper Iowa University 2-0.
UMary is lead offensively by Hannah Richter, who has two goals and two assists in eight matches so far this season. Teammate Kaly Alcott has provided three assists and scored once herself, while goalkeeper Madisyn Waltman has played every minute in the UMary net, notching five shutouts.
For Winona State,
Emily Chudik and
Riley Harmon are tied for the team lead in goals with two apiece. Jawie Kwon,
Ella Roberts,
Reanne Weil and
Jaida Wiege all have scored on the season as well.
Ellie Wardell has assisted on four goals, including three in the first half of a 3-0 shutout of Minnesota Duluth and
Missy Greco has two helpers on the year so far.
