MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Winona State University men's basketball team will face the University of Mary this afternoon in a non-conference contest in the second game of the MSU-Moorhead Microtel Thanksgiving Classic.
The Warriors (3-2, 0-1 NSIC) will take on UMary (2-3, 1-0 NSIC) in the second of two games WSU will play in Moorhead as the Warriors return to the court following the Thanksgiving holiday. Both sides opened up tournament play yesterday with WSU falling to MSU Moorhead, 76-67 while the Marauders defeated Sioux Falls, 83-74. Head coach

Warrior - Marauders Notables:
Winona State is 20-1 over UMary and have won 13 straight matchups with the Maunders heading into the week.
Due to Covid, UMary and Winona State did not play last year. The last time the two teams met was Feb. 8, 2019, a 86-83 Warrior win.
Alec Rosner, Devin Whitelow, Luke Martens and Nick Klug are the only current Warriors who have played against UMary.
Four Warriors reached double digits in the WSU loss to UIU on Tuesday; Alec Rosner (15), Owen King (14), Devin Whitelow (13) and Luke Martens (12).
Alec Rosner played 39 of the game's 40 minutes vs. UIU, while Luke Martens logged 36.
Rosner led Winona State in scoring against MSU-Moorhead yesterday, notching 23 points on the day.
Devin Whitelow also hit double-digits against the Dragons, with 11 points, along with four assists.
Luke Martens reached double digits in rebounds (11), with four coming on the offensive end of the floor.
Winona State was 10-of-13 from the free throw line vs. MSU-Moorhead in game one of the Microtel Classic.
Kai Huntsberry paired 22 points and nine rebounds, Kam Warrens had a second straight double double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Gertautas Urbonavicius (14) and Jacob Jackson (10) both cracked double digits for points in UMary's 80-76 loss to Mayville State in the Marauders home opener.
The Marauders play at home in the McDowell Activity Center just once in the month of November out of their six games.
Kai Huntsberry has had an immediate impact on the Marauders. After scoring eight points in the season opener with five assists against Northeastern State, the transfer from San Diego City College has posted 22 points in each of his next two games.
For the season Huntsberry is averaging 17.3 points, 6.0 rebounds 4.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game while making 47.9% of his shots.
A transfer from NCAA Division I University of North Dakota, Gertautas Urbonavicius has given he Marauders a hot scoring hand inside and out. The junior forward from Vilnius, Lithuania, has hit double digits for points in all three UMary games.
Kam Warrens is averaging nearly a double double with 12.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. After leading UMary in scoring with 16 points and adding six rebounds against the River Hawks, the junior wing player had 12 boards and 12 points against the Broncos and 10 points and 11 rebounds against the Comets.
The Marauders have finished on the positive side of the turnover ledger in all three games. On average UMary has the 3rd best plus-minus average in the NSIC at +3.0.
UMary has outrebounded all three opponents this season. The Marauders are 7th among NSIC teams with a rebounding margin of +6.7 rebounds/game.
