Winona, Minn. - The Winona State University women's tennis team opened up the day with a sweep of doubles action against the University of Minnesota Crookston on Saturday, and the Warriors made quick work of the singles line-up as well, winning 7-0 in a NSIC dual match.
The Warriors (3-2) beat the Golden Eagles (0-6) in straight sets to claim their third victory on the season. The doubles sweep marks the first time this season that Winona State has won all three doubles contests.
Rachel Kelly and
Rina Niehoff combined to take the #1, with
Beth Murman and
Brooke Jorgensen winning at #2 and
Faith Young and
Sara Anderson won at #3. All doubles scores were 6-0.
In singles play,
Beth Murman was victorious at #1 singles, while
Rachel Kelly took #2 and
Rina Niehoff won the #3 singles slot.
Faith Young and
Brooke Holloway wrapped up the Warrior sweep at #5 and #6 singles, respectively.
Winona State returns to action tomorrow at noon, when they host Bemidji State (2-3).
